On the year when I was born The New York Times published a story where quoting Woody Allen his co-writer of the Oscar-winning Annie Hall, Marshall Brickman, said:

I have learned one thing. As Woody says, ‘Showing up is 80 percent of life.’ Sometimes it’s easier to hide home in bed. I’ve done both.

I have not known of the quote until just a couple of years ago; but ever since I’ve first read it, it’s been resonating powerfully with me.

I don’t know who originally put together the eloquent chart (see it below) referenced in Cordell Parvin’s get-outside-your-comfort-zone-for-the-magic-to-happen post, but when I saw it a year ago, I couldn’t help but recall that Woody Allen’s 80-percent-of-life quote again.

Magic outside your comfort zone
